Streaming fighting games will probably never be the preferred way to play the genre, but for players who no longer want to dig out a PS3 to play some classics, it gets the job done and certainly scratches that itch. Overall, I've enjoyed my time with the service and streaming over a wired connection gave me personally a great picture quality and almost unnoticeable input delay which made me forget I wasn't playing locally on multiple occasions.Įven games like Tekken Tag Tournament 2 were entirely still fun and playable though what little delay there was for me is of course slightly more noticeable at times.
Personally I tried PlayStation Now a number of years ago and was left fairly impressed, so once Sony dropped the monthly price down to $9.99 USD last year, I decided to hop back on and give it another go with the updated PS4 library. Tekken 7 is already available on PS Now which means that subscribers can download the base game to their PS4 at home plus a wide array of fighters including Mortal Kombat 2011, Injustice, Mortal Kombat X, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Dead or Alive 5, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, King of Fighters 13, Virtua Fighter 2, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Skullgirls Encore, BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend, Arcana Hearts 3, Fighting Vipers, Garou Mark of the Wolves, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Sonic: The Fighters, Brawlout, Divekick, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition and Nidhogg. The PlayStation Now service offers a more robust selection of titles in the genre though we have to remember that the PS3 titles can only be streamed due to the lack of backwards compatability on PS4. Capcom: Infinite, Mortal Kombat X and Samurai Shodown 2. Out of the almost 300 titles currently on Xbox Game Pass, there's also a decent collection of other fighting game titles to check out including Jump Force, the entire Killer Instinct series, King of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match, Marvel vs.
Those looking to download Tekken 7 on Xbox will need to wait until January 16 to do so though it unfortunately will not include the PC version as well it seems.
